Bridal Trends Hollywood glamour seems to be happening - The long veil seems to have disappeared and headpieces have jumped to the top of the style list. Alternatively, a long veil is worn only to the ceremony and is replaced by a specially designed headpiece that is worn throughout the reception. Beading, jewels, crystals, lace and feathers have been adorning the heads of my Sydney and overseas brides. Feathers are soft and vintage or brightly coloured. It's always a pleasure to work with these women who have a distinctive style of their own and it's very important that they outshine everyone on their wedding day. The latest sumptuous bridal fabrics I have been working with range from incandescent champagne to dusty pink and antique gold. I have been lovingly dying feathers, lace and sinamay…having flowers especially handmade from matching fabric, and finding the perfect pearls or beads to complete the whole piece. Contemporary brides are daring to be different. A wonderful experience for me as their milliner!! |
