21 Dec An oversized diggers hat for Youi Insurance TV commercial

This wonderful character by Paul Mason was the brief I received to make an oversized Aussie Diggers hat for a
Youi Insurance TV commercial…. in 2 days!

It worked out magically, as luckily I had all the materials…khaki felt, braid and even some leather for the chin strap.
I just needed to stretch the felt to the max to get a very wide brim.  When finished, I had to knock it around a bit to make it look old, worn and daggy.

Lots of fun to make, and a lovely group of TV production people involved. Thank you!
